Our Essentials pieces are crafted from 316L stainless steel with an 18K gold layer and are waterproof, making them perfect for everyday wear. Even so, a little care will help keep them looking beautiful for longer.
Our Statement pieces are more delicate and may include natural stones, resin, wood, zirconia and plated finishes. We recommend keeping these pieces away from water, perfume, lotions and other cosmetics.
When you’re not wearing your jewellery, store it separately in a dry place and gently wipe it with a soft cloth after use.

Is Rose of Sharon jewellery waterproof?
Our Essentials Collection is crafted from 316L stainless steel with an 18K gold layer and is waterproof, making it suitable for everyday wear.
Our Statement Collection includes a variety of materials and finishes and should generally be kept away from water unless otherwise stated in the individual product description.
Will the 18K gold finish last forever?
Our 18K gold finish is a layer of real gold applied over the base metal. Like all gold-plated jewellery, this surface layer can gradually fade over time with regular wear. How quickly this happens depends on how often the piece is worn and how it is cared for.
Can I wear my Essentials jewellery in the shower?
Yes. Our Essentials pieces are designed to be waterproof. However, frequent exposure to perfumes, lotions, alcohol, cleaning products and other chemicals can affect the gold finish over time. For the longest-lasting shine, we recommend making your jewellery the final touch to your beauty routine.
Why can gold plating fade even if the jewellery is waterproof?
Water resistance and gold plating are two different things. The stainless steel underneath is highly resistant to water and tarnishing, while the 18K gold finish is a surface layer that naturally experiences wear from friction, chemicals and everyday use.
How should I care for my Statement pieces?
Statement pieces may feature natural stones, resin, wood, zirconia and plated finishes. Because these materials require different care, we recommend avoiding water, perfume, lotions and chemicals and storing each piece separately when not in use.
Are natural stones exactly the same in every piece?
No. Natural stones can vary slightly in colour, pattern, shape and texture. These natural variations are part of their beauty and make each piece unique.
Does Rose of Sharon jewellery come with a warranty?
Our warranty covers eligible manufacturing faults. Natural wear of gold plating, scratches, colour changes caused by chemicals, perfume or cosmetics, and damage resulting from improper care are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered by the warranty.
